Terms of Service

“You” are: The customer or customers that received the quotation (“Client”)

“Assignment” means the project of work, goods and services set out in the quotation

“We” are: Hair & Makeup Collective Ltd of 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU (“Hair & Makeup Collective”)

“Artist(s)” are: The assigned hair and/or makeup artist(s) selected to undertake your assignment

“Booking Fee” means the initial advance payment to cover our admin fee and to provisionally secure the date and artist(s), which is paid or owed to Hair & Makeup Collective

“Deposit” means the advance payments to secure the date and artist(s) to allow the artist(s) to commence work on the assignment and is described in section 2 a)

“Fees” means monies paid or owed to Hair & Makeup Collective and/or the artist(s)

“Event” means the event where the assignment is to be delivered by the artist(s)

“Services” means the services provided by the artist(s) as part of the assignment

“Terms” means these Terms of Service

The price for the assignment is set out in the customer quotation provided by Hair & Makeup Collective following your enquiry (“Price”). The price excludes any expenses that may be incurred by the artist(s), unless otherwise agreed in writing by all parties

Bridal:

At the time of booking, a 25% booking fee or £100 (whichever is greater) is taken from the total price which covers our admin fee and secures your artist for the trial. This fee is non refundable unless your booking is cancelled by Hair & Makeup Collective or you decide not to proceed with your booking following a trial – see section 2.c for further information

Following a successful trial, a non-refundable 50% deposit is payable directly to your artist(s) within 7 days to secure your artist(s) for your wedding date. The remaining fees are payable directly to your artist(s) no later than 6 weeks prior to your event

Any reduction of the assignment is at the discretion of your artist(s), however the booking fee paid cannot be adjusted for reductions

Special Occasion & Group Bookings:

A booking fee of 25% is taken for our admin fee and to secure your event date and artist(s). This fee is non-refundable unless Hair & Makeup Collective cancels your booking – see section 2.c for further details

The remaining fees are payable directly to your artist(s) no later than 7 days prior to your event or payable immediately if your event is within 7 days

Any reduction of the assignment is at the discretion of your artist(s), however the booking fee paid cannot be adjusted for reductions

Hair & Makeup Collectives’ invoice for the booking fee will follow your booking request and is payable within 7 days of requesting your booking. An agreement and the artist(s) are not formally in place until the booking fee has been paid in full to Hair & Makeup Collective. Payment of the booking fee is considered acceptance of our terms of service as set out in this document

If changes that require additional fees to be paid are subsequently requested, 25% of any extra fees shall be payable immediately to Hair & Makeup Collective on acceptance of the changes

Bridal:

Should you decide not to proceed with your booking following a trial, we will refund any difference between your booking fee and the deposit cost of £100 (if any). Notification not to proceed must be sent to us in writing within 7 days of the trial taking place. The booking fee becomes non-refundable either after a successful trial or after 7 days post trial, where we have not received any notification of your intent not to proceed.

If the client cancels the assignment within 6 weeks or less of the event, then the fees in full plus any expenses incurred as at the date of cancellation (less any monies paid) shall be due to the artist(s)

In the scenario that your wedding date is re-arranged, we will accommodate one date change within a 12-month period (subject to your artists availability). Any further changes are at the artist(s) discretion

In the unlikely event that the artist(s) becomes unable to complete your assignment due to a personal emergency, an act of God, or illness, we will endeavour to find an equivalent replacement artist(s)

All trials are well documented to assist in these scenarios and the replacement artist(s) will be fully briefed

In the event that Hair & Makeup Collective or the artist(s) cancel the assignment, the fees paid will be repaid to the client within 14 days of cancellation and no further sum or compensation will be payable to the client by Hair & Makeup Collective or the artist(s) arising from such cancellation

The services may also be terminated by Hair & Makeup Collective or the artist(s) if payment of the fees is not made in accordance with these terms, or if the client commits a material breach of any of these terms and fails to remedy the breach within 14 days of being notified in writing

Where the client seeks to cancel any assignment where travel and/or accommodation expenses have already been booked and or paid for by the artist(s), these expenses shall be either deducted from any refund, and/or are non-refundable to the client in any event

Cancellations are valid only when received in writing. The fees are always agreed by email confirmation, verbal agreements are not offered or deemed valid by Hair & Makeup Collective

If Hair & Makeup Collective are hindered from providing services booked by the client due to circumstances beyond its control e.g., government intervention, acts of God, civil disturbance, war, national or local disaster, strikes, labour disputes, epidemic and or pandemic, the booking fee is deemed non-refundable

Special Occasion & Group Bookings:

The booking fee is non-refundable unless your booking is cancelled by Hair & Makeup Collective. The remaining fees paid to your artist(s) are refundable up to 7 days prior to your event, after which, all payments become non-refundable. Any date amendments to your booking are at the artist(s) discretion. All other applicable terms as per Bridal cancellation policy above applies

The price excludes any expenses that may be incurred by the artist(s), which will be agreed in writing between the client and artist(s) prior to the event

Travel is charged at 45p per mile after 10 miles from the artists’ location and is payable directly to your artist(s) alongside any parking costs they may incur. We are happy to provide a travel estimate at the time of booking and will endeavour to choose an appropriately located artist(s) (subject to availability)

Travel prior to 06:00 which is over 60 miles from the artist(s) base address, may require accommodation to be booked, and is payable by the client prior to the event

Any travel expenses outside of the United Kingdom, for example flights, trains, hotels or other charges that may be reasonably required, will be payable in full by the client prior to the event and are non-refundable in any event

One trial is included within your booking and can be expected to last between 2 and 3 hours. Any further time requested is at the artist(s) discretion but may incur an additional charge. Any further trials will be charged at the same rate as the first trial and must be booked through us

Any trial for your bridal party will incur a £50 fee per person and are to be added at the time of booking. These trials must also take place at the same time and location as the brides trial. These fees are non-refundable once the trial has taken place

Trials are undertaken at a location agreed upon by yourself and the artist(s), this can include your home, the artists’ home, their studio or salon

In respect of any direct losses the total liability of Hair & Makeup Collective will not exceed the return of the booking fees received Hair & Makeup Collective accepts no liability whatsoever for any injury, damage or loss caused by the artist(s)

The artist(s) will not be held responsible for any allergies or reactions caused by their work

It is the client’s responsibility to inform the artist(s) of any potential issues such as, but not limited to, medical conditions, allergies, and/or sensitivities at the time of booking or at the latest 14 days prior to the event. The artist(s) cannot be held liable for any condition that arises or loss incurred if the client has not informed the artist(s) of any known conditions as stated above, or any conditions unknown to the client at the time of the services

If any member of the party does have a known allergy or skin sensitivity then a consultation/trial is recommended whereby a sample test patch can be completed on request – please contact us beforehand for more information

The artist(s) has the right to refuse treatment if any member of the party have any contagious skin infections or other contagious conditions

The artist(s) will use reasonable care and skill in performing the services

You are required to provide Hair & Makeup Collective with your contact details, including telephone number, email address and venue location. By doing so, you provide Hair & Makeup Collective permission to contact you in line with our privacy policy

Your booking enquiry will be dealt with by our admin team who will be available to support you throughout your booking

Variations to the assignment, or to the services, may only be agreed in writing. Services out of scope of the quotation will attract additional fees

Any pre-consultations requested will take place by telephone or email with your assigned artist(s)

Once the booking fee has been successfully received, we will provide you with booking confirmation and introduce you to your assigned artist(s) via email If the start time for a booking is amended to be later than in the quotation, but the finish time is to remain the same, or your departure for the event is brought forward, or if a booking is requested that we believe will not be possible for one person due to time constraints, we reserve the right to insist on an assistant to the artist(s) at a fee determined at the time of notification (subject to availability)

Hair & Makeup Collective reserves the right to use images of the artist(s) work during the assignment for marketing, promotional and editorial purposes. If you do not wish to give consent to this use of work or your image, then you must confirm this by email within 14 days of entering into this agreement
